SERIOUS COMPETITION IN AUSTRALIA:

The 9th race of the UTWT season 2017 promises a great competition this year with a lot of expected Elite athletes. The TOP3 female of last year are once again present for the 100k of Ultra-Trail® Australia and on the men side, the Canadian Rob KRAR and the Norvegian Sondre AMDAHL are among the favourites of the race.

The national park of Blue Mountains, site of UNESCO world heritage, will welcome the runners of the 10th edition of the event, which will take place from 18th to 21st May.

UTWT HEALTH POLICY:

Ultra-Trail® World Tour affirms its commitment for the prevention and the protection of the health of athletes. In collaboration with ITRA and Atletes for Transparency, the UTWT has decided to implement in 2017 a health policy within the series.
The current health policy have two main axes:

1. To provide the race organizers as well as athletes with an ITRA Health Space in order to gather health information of the athlete, for the strict usage of the race medical team. This information can be of a precious help on race day.

2. New prevention actions organized with the athletes before and during the races which will strengthen the medical surveillance

After an exciting 2016 season, where Caroline Chaverot and Gediminas Grinius became champions, Ultra-Trail® World Tour goes towards the Asian and Oceanian continent with the Vibram Hong Kong 100 Ultramarathon and the Tarawera Ultramarathon. The first race of 100 kilometers, dotted by beaches, deserts and old forest, starts the UTWT competition. Then Ultra-Trail® World Tour continues his adventure at Tarawera Ultramarathon. The athletes are at the heart of the New Zealand culture and landscapes in this second step of the circuit.
