After 3 amazing days, the St. Moritz Running Festival 2021 comes to an end. Sweat, physical exhaustion, tired legs, fun, excitement, tears, laughters and joy... all the thrills for the sports enthusiasts. Today, on it's final day, 55 runners started the last stage of "Crossing Engiadina". The "Trail da Lej", with 26.9km and 1296m altitude, the hardest but maybe also one of the most beautiful routes of the multistage run. The winnners, none other than Anna Hahner and Alessandro Santini seized the win over all three stages. Also, ON-Runner Timo Schröder defended his place on the pedestal.
The first two days of the St. Moritz Running Festival have already passed. Once more, we were lucky with the weather. On Friday, 60 athletes ran the first of three stages of the "Crossing Engiadina", 41 men and 19 women ran 22.5 km and over 1200m in altitude. On Saturday, 91 athletes took on the challenge of the Free Fall Vertical. 1069 meters up over only 6.6km from the St. Moritz Lake to the Free Fall. At the very last section, the athletes must overcome the 150 meters with 45-degree gradient to the finish line on the platform where in winter the World Ski Championship starts. The second stage of the "Crossing Engiadina" took 56 athletes all the way from Samedan up to Trais Fluors to Corviglia and back down to the Festival Village in St. Moritz. 21.3km and 1320m up.
