The Oman Desert Marathon 165km & 100km concluded today with Morocco's ELMORABITY Mohammed claiming overall victory in the 165km division after five days of intense competition across the Bidiyah desert region. The final stage brought athletes from the desert interior to the stunning coastline, where their journey ended at the Arabian Sea.

 

The penultimate stage of the Oman Desert Marathon 165km & 100km delivered dramatic racing today as Moroccan brothers ELMORABITY Rachid and Mohammed crossed the finish line separated by a single second. The innovative wave start system, designed to manage field spread and ensure safe completion times, successfully facilitated competitive racing while accommodating athletes of varying pace capabilities.
 

Stage 2 of the Desert Marathon concluded today with Moroccan athletes delivering commanding performances across both men's and women's divisions, while the desert landscape provided a masterclass in psychological endurance.

 

The inaugural stage of the Oman Desert Marathon concluded today with remarkable performances from elite athletes representing over 20 nations, battling the challenging desert terrain.

In the men's 165km category, Mohammed Elmorabity (Morocco) claimed victory with an impressive average speed of 12.2 km/h, demonstrating exceptional endurance and tactical prowess. His brother Rachid Elmorabity (Morocco) secured second place at 11.0 km/h, while Saleh Alsaidi (Oman) took third place with 10.6 km/h, delighting home supporters.

The women's 165km division saw Aziza Elamrany (Morocco) dominate the field with a strong pace of 8.3 km/h. Fellow Moroccan Aziza Raji finished second at 7.8 km/h, while Natalie Taylor (United Kingdom) claimed third place at 7.4 km/h.

 

The 2025 Oman Desert Marathon concluded today with Mohammed El Morabity claiming his third title, securing both the final stage victory (1:48:41) and overall win (15:44:23). His brother Rachid El Morabity, a seven-time champion, finished second overall (15:56:48). Oman's Saleh Alsaidi (16:02:47) took third place, echoing his 2023 result and following his strong runner-up performance in 2024.
