Ninth edition this year for one of the most exciting and popular mountain running events in Europe, the Grossglockner Ultra Trail, in Austria. The 2023 edition was a great success, as were the changes made to the event in recent years, both on organisational level with the return of the start and finishing area to the central square of the picturesque Kaprun and its expansion into a three-day race, and on a technical level with the addition of the 15K Scenic Trail and, most importantly, the change of direction of the event's iconic ultra trail race, the GGUT 110K. An event with which Advendure has a long association as media sponsor, it remains independent and welcomes over 2,000 athletes each year to its races at the end of July. It's always great to talk with the "soul" of GGUT, our friend Hubert Resch, who in the interview we're publishing today talks not only about the race, but also about the developments and future of mountain running at a global level, and gives us great flash news about their effort to bring Fotis Zisimopoulos to run the GGUT 110K this year!
The people of Grossglockner Ultra Trail have in their DNA the tendency for continuous improvement and we have seen this every time we visit the beautiful Kaprun to run one of the GGUT races. Wild and iconic, the Black Mountain (Grossglockner) offers a thrilling experience at whatever distance you choose. This year's edition of the GGUT extends over a three-day period (29 - 31 July) and has many important changes that enhance the beauty, safety and overall structure of the races. Mr. Hubert Resch, head of the GGUT and very good friend, talks to us about the 7th edition of the event and other very interesting topics related to mountain running. Of course Advendure will be there for another year as one of the media partners of the GGUT organisation.
