Registration for the World Masters Mountain Running Championships 2027 in Klosters is now open!

From 10^th – 12^th June 2027, Klosters will become the meeting point for the international Masters mountain running community. Registration for the World Masters Mountain Running Championships 2027 is now open. More than 1,000 runners from more than 30 nations are expected to take part.

The World Masters Mountain Running Championships 2027 (WMMRC 2027) are open to Masters athletes aged 35 and over. Participants will compete in three disciplines on courses around Klosters. The event is aimed at experienced mountain runners as well as ambitious runners who want to take on an International challenge.

Three disciplines in three days

The WMMRC 2027 programme includes three disciplines. The event-opening will take place on Thursday, 10^th June 2027, with the Uphill race covering 7.1 kilometres and 830 metres of ascent. On Friday, 11^th June 2027, the Long Distance race follows with 32.7 kilometres and almost 2,000 metres of elevation gain. The programme concludes on Saturday, 12^th June 2027, with the Up-Downhill race covering 11.1 kilometres and 530 metres of elevation gain.

International Masters community in Klosters

The courses lead along varied trails and hiking paths around Klosters, combining sporting challenge with the mountain scenery of the region. In addition to the competition, the event also focuses on International exchange: the WMMRC 2027 will bring together Masters athletes from different age groups to create space for sport, connection and community.

Starter package with many included services

The WMMRC 2027 entry fee includes a wide range of services for the race-experience in Klosters. These include, among others, a high-quality starter bag, refreshments along the course and at the finish, medical support and discounts for the Madrisa gondola. Also included is the closing dinner on Saturday evening at Arena Klosters, organised as an atmospheric conclusion to the Masters days with live music and a shared celebration.

Klosters as an experienced host

For Klosters, hosting the WMMRC 2027 marks another major International sporting event. Destination Davos Klosters has many years of experience in organising sports events and is also well established in the trail running scene through the Madrisa Trail Klosters by LOWA. “With registration now open, the WMMRC 2027 is becoming tangible.
