ADVENDURE is the leading web portal in Greece about Mountain Running, Adventure, Endurance and other Mountain Sports
The Brama Stage Run, which will celebrate its 2nd edition this year, will bring together runners of various nationalities to compete in three exciting stages in the Ripollès region and the Vall de Ribes.
Ribes de Freser, known for its natural charm and privileged location, will be the nerve centre of the event, hosting all participants and serving as the starting and finishing point of the race. This enclave becomes the logistical and social heart of the event, offering runners a unique experience both in terms of sport and culture.
With modalities that vary in distance and uphill, the Brama Stage Run is consolidated as a reference event in the trail running calendar, positioning Ribes de Freser as one of the capitals of mountain sport during these days.
This year, around 160 runners have registered, of which 27% are women. The Brama Stage Run has a large international participation, with 68% foreign runners and 20 nationalities represented. Among the countries with the highest number of participants are Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and France, in addition to having runners who travel from the United States and Canada to participate in the event.
The main categories are the BRAMA100K, with a 100km route and 6100m uphill, the BRAMA80K, with 80km and 4400m of elevation gain, and the BRAMA60K, with 60km and 3200m uphill, always divided into 3 stages. The three races will run over spectacular landscapes, passing by peaks and emblematic towns in the area.
Routes and stages
The first stage will take place in the Serra de Montgrony, passing through towns such as Planoles, Nevà and Campelles, and reaching iconic peaks such as La Covil, at 2000m of altitude.
On the second day, participants will ascend to the Santuari de Núria at almost 2000m of altitude on the famous rack railway. From this point, the BRAMA100K runners will cross high mountain passes at 2800m, while the BRAMA80K and BRAMA60K will face a joint route that will take them to heights of 2600m. During this stage, all the runners will pass the spectacular Refugi de Coma de Vaca and Gorges del Freser, in the heart of the Parc Natural de les Capçaleres del Ter i Freser.
The third and final stage will take place in Serra Cavallera, where the BRAMA100K runners will crown peaks such as Puig Cerverís (2208m) and Puig Estela (2013m), before all the modalities descend together from Taga (2040m) to Ribes de Freser, in one of the toughest descents of the race, with more than 1000m of gradient in 6 km.
Ribes de Freser: epicentre of the Brama Stage Run
During the three days of the Brama Stage Run, Ribes de Freser will not only be the meeting point for the runners, but also the space where key activities of the event will take place, such as the awards ceremony, the video screening and the daily dinner. This small town in Ripollès, located in a privileged natural environment, will be the temporary home of athletes from all over the world, who will stay in the area and enjoy the services offered by the organisation.
A comprehensive experience for participants
The organisation, led by BiFree Sports, not only offers a sporting challenge, but a complete experience. Runners enjoy local accommodation and meals, contributing to the revitalization of the region's economy. Every night, in the Ribes de Freser Pavilion, a joint dinner is held where the photos and videos of the day are projected, prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each category and the briefing for the next stage is held, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie among the participants.
