A decisive move into triathlon—built on endurance credibility, elite athlete validation, and a fresh perspective on running performance under muscular fatigue.

ANNECY, France — [03/24/2026] - Salomon enters long-distance triathlon alongside three athletes who live where races are decided:

  • Casper Stornes (Norway) – Casper found early triathlon success, winning the Junior Triathlon World Champs in 2016, as well as winning the Norwegian short distance triathlon circuit. Several medals on Ironman 70.3 races followed, including bronze in Bahrain in 2018 and 2019, gold in Nice in 2021, in Indian Wells-La Quinta in 2023, and in Varsovie in 2024. BUILDING A NEW LEGACY BASED ON OUR RUNNING HERITAGE

Triathlon is a new category for Salomon; long-distance performance is not. The brand’s expertise was built where equipment must protect, stabilize and remain efficient as the body breaks down—exactly the conditions that define the final kilometers of a long-course race. For decades, Salomon has delivered results in disciplines where confidence and sustainability matter as much as speed. From Nordic skiing (64 medals across the last three Winter Olympic Games) to trail running (multiple ultra distance titles since 2008) and more recently road running (a top five at NYC marathon and the USA national men Marathon title in 2025), its footwear has been shaped by demanding terrain, high physiological load and real-world testing. In triathlon, that heritage becomes most relevant at the finish, when accumulated stress is highest. That is the space Salomon is stepping into.

Salomon’s performance running philosophy centers on maintaining movement quality under load: a tuned balance of cushioning, dynamic energy, smooth transitions and support. Through concepts such as Dynamic Comfort, the brand defines how footwear can reduce the cost of fatigue, helping athletes hold form, efficiency and intent when the race turns into management.

The signings of Stornes, Pierré and Iemmolo give that approach immediate validation. These athletes understand the run is not a standalone discipline but the final expression of everything that came before, and they treat footwear as a decisive performance choice.

Salomon is not claiming a triathlon legacy it has not yet earned. In this category, legitimacy is built on proof: product relevance, athlete feedback, racing, and a clear technical contribution. They will also benefit from the « Performance Program and Science Lab », including world-class testing and sport science expertise in heat and altitude training, nutrition, podiatry and physiotherapy. Beyond product performance, the athletes will have access to Salomon’s « Service to Athlete » expertise, with the ability to tailor footwear to their individual needs when required.

With Casper Stornes, Marjolaine Pierré and Julie Iemmolo, Salomon begins its triathlon chapter with athletes whose standards are uncompromising, raising expectations from day one. This is not a detour for the brand. It is a new expression of what Salomon has always been.
