An exciting event that promises to test the limits of participants' endurance and skill, as they explore one of the most stunning settings in the world. The event has an extended schedule from September 2nd to 8th, with the race starting on the 4th, and they have until midnight on the 7th to reach their final destination. The general route is revealed just 1 hour before the start, and all teams will be monitored by GPS Live Tracking, allowing interaction and control over the teams' progress.

It will be a milestone in the history of adventure racing and a celebration of nature and sport. It will bring together adventure teams from all over the world, who will face each other in an expedition full of exciting challenges, day and night without stopping, including paths with several intense slopes, navigating only using maps that the organization provides only at the beginning of each stage. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the culture and history of the Douro region, famous for its vineyards and extraordinary beauty, as well as the areas surrounding the Tua and Côa rivers. It will be an adventure full of mystery and suspense that involves constant adaptation, including sleep deprivation.

During this event, teams must face several stages that will include Trekking and Running, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, requiring not only physical endurance, but also teamwork and solid resilience and effort management strategies, foreseeing several challenges, such as night navigation, on an open route in unknown territory. With Control Points along the route, participants will have the chance to explore the rich biodiversity and transition between activities in the Transition Zones. Along the route the organization has also planned some surprises.

The Intermunicipal Community of Douro, the main promoter, has been investing in a differentiating communication and promotion of the digital project “Discover Douro”, which includes a portal and an application, reinforcing through this event the exposure of its potential for the exploration of Nature and Adventure tourism.
